The “UFO curse” still remains unbroken

The following prophetic statement was originally published in James Moseley’s newsletter, SAUCER SMEAR, on October 10, 1983.  This is also known as The UFO curse.

Here it is:

The last will and testament of Philip J. Klass.

Definitely, something to ponder about.

Whether he was a “spook” or not, we must admit that his “curse” still remains today, unbroken.

Philip J. Klass was a long-time senior editor of highly respected AVIATION WEEK & SPACE TECHNOLOGY magazine (for 34 years, from 1952 to 1986).

(By the way, I had a high respect for Philip J. Klass, even though I did not always agree with his conclusions.  Phil was to me a very friendly, kind, polite and humble person who was seen frequently attending many UFO conferences and mingling freely with folks during the hey days of Ufology.)

We may not be alone in this universe – – but what does it really mean?

We may not be alone in this universe.  But what does it really mean?

It all depends on each person’s interpretation of this statement.

“We are not alone” could mean different things to different people.   It’s all about terminology.

Some folks who are skeptical about the existence of space aliens may still believe that God, angels and demons exist in this universe, physically or otherwise.  So, in that sense they could also say that “we are not alone”.

(I am in this category since I am a firm believer in the existence of a Supreme Being – – God, the Creator)

I also concur with the vast majority of the world’s scientists and astronomers who seem to accept the possibility that since there are billions and billions of planets circling the billions and billions of sun-like stars within the billions and billions of galaxies in the undescribably huge universe(s), there has to be intelligent life somewhere there and that we are probably not alone, even though we still do not know for sure.

But when it comes to UFOs, the same vast majority seem to be skeptical that we have ever been  (or are being)  visited physically.   I agree with them again.

To me it takes more than a tremendous leap of faith to conclude that UFOs represent just such physical visitations to our Earth.

Yet the UFO phenomenon itself seems to be real.

But is it a definite proof that we have been  (or are being)  visited by physical extraterrestrial entities in physical extraterrestrial spacecraft?   So far, we haven’t seen any definite proof of this.

Should we start to look beyond the physical ETH  (physical Extraterrestrial Hypothesis)  origin of this strange, illusive phenomenon?

Yes, according to both Dr. J. Allen Hynek and Dr. Jacques Vallee both of whom seemed to have expressed their belief that the genuine UFO phenomenon itself has existed since time immemorial.

My personal interepretation is that the phenomenon seems to be definitely real to a “pre-selected” observer or a “pre-selected” group of observers.

But what does “real” really mean?  The definition of “reality” has become my main interest.

I am open to the speculation that the UFO phenomenon could be a temporarily manifested, “seemingly” materialized intrusion into our physical dimension by what I describe as sentient, paraphysical entities that seem to dwell in a parallel dimension that co-exists with us.

Words cannot fully express how much I love living here in New Mexico, USA.

As I stated elsewhere many times before, once you taste the beauty and uniqueness of New Mexico, it will never leave you, no matter where you go.

In fact, it will tell you sooner or later that this is the place to return to and spend the rest of your remaining life.

It happened to me, too.

I first came here to New Mexico from Japan in 1965, but then later moved on to Arizona in 1973 where I became a naturalized citizen of this great nation in 1976.  From 1982 to 2008 I lived and worked in Los Angeles, as a licensed funeral director.

But something told me that after my retirement,  I must move back here to this Land of Enchantment and spend the rest of my life here.   And now I am so happy living here again !!

Why?

Because there is no place like New Mexico – – its beautiful, mild climate, its rich and diverse culture and wonderful, generous people.

(It goes without saying that New Mexico, with its abundance of tasty green chile, has the best food I ever tasted – – I love New Mexico’s unique music style – – I love the great Native American people here and their traditions – – I love the Hispano culture with its unique Spanish language spoken here, especially in northern New Mexico – – I could go on and on)

New Mexico is the 5th largest State in the Union, yet its entire population is only around 2 million.   It has been  (and will be)  that way for quite some time.

Why?

Because many people in the United States  (and most people in the world)  do not even seem to know  (or do not seem to care)  that we even exist.

In a way, it’s the best kept secret !!

(Some people here like to keep it that way).

Imagine having an unfiltered, direct view of Area 51 and the Tonopah Test Range airport from the air, and not breaking any laws.  This is what a private pilot recently got when he flew his small Cessna 150 as close as you legally can.  And also happened to have a good quality camera along for the ride.

MYSTERY WIRE spoke with Zeifman from his home near Edwards Air Force Base in southern California.   Zeifman is an ATC  (air traffic controller)  and has been flying since he was in his teens.  He maintains both a private and commercial pilot’s license.

“So I’ve always wanted to go fly out there and now I just moved down to this area out and Okay, well, let’s go do it.”  Zeifman says he had not planned to fly near the base back in November of 2019, but after landing quickly in the small town of Rachel, he radioed Nellis AFB and asked for transit over the test range to continue his flight to Henderson Executive Airport.

“I again call Nellis and that’s just standard for me.  You don’t have to talk to air traffic control under the rules I was flying under but you’re perfectly welcome to and encouraged to so I called them and after they identified me I asked if the transitive restricted 4806 West available?  And they said, ‘yeah,’ so like, okay, well then I’m gonna do that.  And then flew right along the boundary of the box.  I mean, everybody has seen the the views.  It was pretty awesome.”

Zeifman told MYSTERY WIRE he has actually flown this route three times, taking pictures each time.  He reminded me that what he did was completely legal and had clearance from Nellis to fly the route.

I asked him about the first time he saw the base with his own eyes, “The first time I saw it, I was kind of surprised because I was still probably 30, 40 miles out and just like wow, okay, well that’s it.”  He added, “I’m not really seeing any activity.  It’s just the runways and stuff and I think it’s pretty cool anyway, just seeing that, you know, the place that everybody knows about, talks about but you can’t really see.”

Zeifman said as he was flying along the border, his main thought was just being careful to not cross.  He said if a pilot were to cross into restricted airspace it would end up being a very bad day.  He gave MYSTERY WIRE a long, but good answer about what he believes would happen if he had crossed the line in the sky, “So I wouldn’t expect anything like the dramatic like they’re going to shoot you down.”

“What would probably happen is first, they’re going to get you out of there.  They’re going to say, ‘turn east immediately.’”

Zeifman went on to talk about what penalties you might face, “First, actually, they’re going to probably give you a warning … they’ll usually give you a couple miles if you’re heading towards it.  If you’re on a course to touch it, they’ll probably (give you) a heads up. boundary is five miles ahead, verify you’re familiar with the airspace, go down, stay clear.  So they’re going to do their best to remind you don’t be an idiot, don’t touch it.  But if you do, they’re going to try to they’re going to get you out of there as quickly as possible.  And and then after the fact I would expect they call it a Brasher warning.  They’re going to tell you possible pilot deviation and suggest you contact Nellis approach and they’ll give you a phone number.  And then you’re expected to call them once you land.  And then they would then file paperwork with the FAA … They’ll have everything.  They’ll have the radar data and the communications.  And from there, they can decide what they’re going to do, if they’re either going to let it go or if they’re going to suggests additional training or a license suspension.  So they have all the options there.  So yeah, if you violate it, it would be a pretty serious thing.”

I then asked Gabe about his plane.  He said, “It’s a Cessna 150 it is, was built in 1965.  It’s got 100 horsepower on a good day.  Yeah, it’s not fast it is by (any) means.  It gets around and doesn’t burn a lot of gas … But you can pretty much land anywhere.  It can take off on just about anything”.

And everyone said, You’re crazy to you know, ask you’re never gonna do it.  And, I mean, I guess when somebody says, ‘You’re insane, it’ll never happen,’ that that makes me just want to try it.
